Faculty Can Apply Now for 2023 Assessment Leadership Institute Mini-Grant
Applications are now being accepted for a $1,000 mini-grant that will be awarded to faculty who are responsible for coordinating academic program-level assessment and able to participate in the Assessment Leadership Institute. The institute will be held June 6 and 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and June 8 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The deadline to apply has been extended to May 12, and applications can be submitted through the application portal using a Syracuse University NetID and password.
The University’s academic program assessment efforts, focused on student learning outcomes, are a faculty-owned and faculty-driven process. Faculty collaboration is key to maintaining meaningful student learning outcomes assessment, and the mini-grant is designed to support the facilitation of program assessment activities to enhance student learning.
The Assessment Leadership Institute’s learning goals include:
- Participants will gain assessment knowledge and skills (e.g., including considerations for equity in assessment).
- Participants will identify and demonstrate facilitation techniques that they will use to guide assessment efforts.
- Participants will develop a sense of agency to inform program-level decision making.
Visit the Office of Institutional Effectiveness’ website to learn more about the Assessment Leadership Institute and the University’s framework for assessing student learning outcomes and campus operations.
