Update From Chancellor Search Committee Co-Chairs
The message below was sent by chancellor search committee co-chairs Shelly Fisher ’80 and Lisa Fontenelli ’86 to Syracuse University students, faculty and staff on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025.
Dear Syracuse University Community:
We are writing today to extend our gratitude to those of you who participated in our recent in-person engagement sessions. Your input, ideas and candid feedback are helping to shape this important search process. We deeply appreciate the time and perspectives you have shared with us.
As a reminder, we invite you to join us for one of the remaining Zoom engagement sessions. The full schedule can be found on the Community Engagement Sessions webpage. We encourage you to participate and lend your voice as we continue to gather input from across our community.
In addition, we invite you to visit and bookmark the Chancellor Search website. There you will find a survey to share your thoughts and priorities for Syracuse University’s next Chancellor. The survey will remain open until Friday, Oct. 3. The site also provides information on how to communicate directly with the search firm, including submitting additional input or nominations. The search firm’s “Chancellor Search” email (SyracuseChancellor@SpencerStuart.com) will remain open throughout the duration of the search.
Thank you again for engaging with us in this vital process. We look forward to our continued collaboration as we seek to identify Syracuse University’s next chancellor.
Sincerely,
Shelly Fisher ’80, Search Committee Co-Chair
Lisa Fontenelli ’86, Search Committee Co-Chair
